{Below is a two hour Environmental Eye-Opener of a documentary video, "What A Way To Go: Life at the end of Empire." I must caution that it is “only” for brave hearts. The narrator uses a “deliberate” and consistent “monotone voice” much like one would hear in 1950’s and 1960's “news reels,” or on a spooky paranormal series called "The Twilight Zone." It sets up a sharp “tone contrast” between narration and frequent interviews with the profound views off university professionals. (Thus the film is acutely “listener friendly”).

We contemporary viewers are not accustomed to black and white sets or solemnly delivered truth. (This is how the film can be slightly off-putting). But (for relief and contrast) every several seconds, 50's and 60’s news clips and features are used as “busy” power point (time machine) knitting needles which wrap the viewer’s conscious state into the history of modern civilization. The subjects context is created using black and white screen and rhetoric, color relief and interview variety. Only in the last several minutes does the filmmaker pose activist solutions. The films gravity is broken only slightly as consciousness is fully developed. Eventually, hope in a sustainable future is imagined and left up to the viewer …(by then) an activist, a hiding ostrich, or the product of civilization that shoots the messenger (and probably didn’t make it to the summation). ~ IGRPP }

{Below is a two hour Environmental Eye-Opener of a documentary video, "What A Way To Go: Life at the end of Empire." I must caution that it is “only” for brave hearts. The narrator uses a “deliberate” and consistent “monotone voice” much like one would hear in 1950’s and 1960's “news reels,” or on a spooky paranormal series called "The Twilight Zone." It sets up a sharp “tone contrast” between narration and frequent interviews with the profound views off university professionals. (Thus the film is acutely “listener friendly”).

We contemporary viewers are not accustomed to black and white sets or solemnly delivered truth. (This is how the film can be slightly off-putting). But (for relief and contrast) every several seconds, 50's and 60’s news clips and features are used as “busy” power point (time machine) knitting needles which wrap the viewer’s conscious state into the history of modern civilization. The subjects context is created using black and white screen and rhetoric, color relief and interview variety. Only in the last several minutes does the filmmaker pose activist solutions. The films gravity is broken only slightly as consciousness is fully developed. Eventually, hope in a sustainable future is imagined and left up to the viewer …(by then) an activist, a hiding ostrich, or the product of civilization that shoots the messenger (and probably didn’t make it to the summation). ~ IGRPP }
